Our Story
We care has been in business for ten years. Our mission is to address the growing incarceration and drug use in Copiah County. We believe that strong two-parent relationships are vital to achieving this mission. It is our belief that we can best serve by enhancing and enriching lives using a holistic approach. This approach includes reaching out to the families emotionally, financially, physically, socially, culturally, spiritually, and educationally.
Through our Saving Our Sons Program it has become apparent that our families in Copiah County need support through family, training, counseling, and guidance. We started the Saving Our Sons program in 2019. The purpose of Saving Our Sons mentoring program is to build relationships with males in our community to enhance their outcomes for success. This program offers boys a community of male role models. It will build on each student’s personal growth and their success to help transition them into the next phase of their life. SOS mentoring can help boost achievement, assist with career exploration, enhance leadership development, and strengthen connections between SOS students and their own families and communities. The SOS program targets at risk students in Copiah County and builds a partnership with organizations in the community in an effort to work together to provide positive outlets for these students and their families.
We also started an after-school program in 2019. This program was done in conjunction with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi. It was transitioned to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi in 2021. We Care continues to support the local Boys & Girls Copiah Unit.
We Care Mississippi, a youth welfare organization in Mississippi, is committed to enhancing youth development through informative and engaging resources.
Our organization provides a platform for youth to learn, grow, and thrive, supported by a network of dedicated individuals passionate about making a difference.
